This policy explains what we collect when you visit Japanese Home Rules, buy a guide or ask for the free checklist, and what we do with it. We collect as little as we can.
Who we are
Japanese Home Rules is run by [Seller legal name], [Country]. You can reach us at support@japanesehomerules.shop. Setsuko is the storyteller of our YouTube channel, a character we created; she does not handle your data, we do.
What we collect
- When you buy. Payment is handled by [payment platform], which acts as the seller of record. It collects your name, email, billing country and payment details. We never see your card number. We receive your name, email, what you bought and when, so we can deliver the files and answer you.
- When you ask for the free checklist. Your email address, and the date you signed up.
- When you write to us. Your email and whatever you choose to tell us.
- When you visit. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security, for a short time. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Why we use it
- To deliver what you bought and handle refunds (this is needed to perform our contract with you).
- To send the free checklist and one short weekly letter, only if you asked for them (your consent). Every letter has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- To keep records of sales, as tax law requires (legal obligation).
Who else sees it
Only the services that help us run the shop: the payment platform ([payment platform]), our email service [email service], and our website host Vercel. They process your data on our behalf and may store it outside your country, under their own safeguards. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
How long we keep it
Order records: as long as tax law requires, usually five to seven years. Your email for letters: until you unsubscribe. Messages to us: up to two years, unless we need them longer for an open request.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it for letters. Write to support@japanesehomerules.shop and we answer within thirty days. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California, you also have the rights given by your local law, including the right to complain to your data protection authority. We do not sell personal information, as defined by California law.
Children
The guide is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under sixteen.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new date appears at the top of this page. If the change is important, we tell subscribers by email.
